Bays Connect was founded to help charities, community groups, businesses, and individuals work more effectively together, strengthening Scarborough’s community sector.

At the heart of our mission is a simple idea: when organisations have the tools and support to operate efficiently, when businesses can engage meaningfully, and when individuals can contribute their time and skills in ways that make a real impact, the whole community thrives.

I am Nadia Asheg, a community champion with over 15 years’ experience across social care, volunteer coordination, crisis intervention, leadership, and community outreach. I have facilitated referrals to more than 160 supported housing spaces and serve as a trustee for two local charities.

I founded Bays Connect because I kept seeing the same challenge: people wanted to help, organisations needed support, and businesses were eager to contribute, but the systems to connect them were often complex or missing entirely. I wanted to build something that would bridge that gap and create meaningful connections across Scarborough. I am particularly passionate about supporting individuals with creative or community-focused projects, helping them turn their ideas into real initiatives that benefit the town.
